Sure. So we learn about classification standards, information legislation and regulation and the principles of information organisation by osmosis? Just maybe there is a professional discipline that helps us to critically evaluate digital information and understand how to organise knowledge and manage information better! Check out the curricula of some of the iSchools and you will see there is a lot more to good information management than common sense.
