What do you think could make a new radio station stand out from the crowd and attract listeners? What do you think are some of the weaknesses of the station you listen too and what would you like to see more of?

Any catchy ideas of a original marketing campaign? events? PR etc etc ??

Cheers

Appeal to younger listeners…they’re more vunerable (lol) and more adaptable to change. Also maybe hold a small competition so that the winner can appear on your show..everyone likes that 5mins of fame. Maybe DJ at a local club, or go there and hand out flyers or pass it on through word of mouth – because that’s were I’d most likely hear about new things.

You didn’t mention your demographics, budget constraints, format, or how much of your broadcast is "live" local and also whether or not you have distinctive call letters. Without knowing these things I would suggest that anything about your programming that you could tie into the new I Phone would probably work for any demgraphic. Unless you’re a genius who has come up with a new format for infants! (smiles!) WAAH FM!

Seriously Give away three of em’ you may be out of 800 dollars. Of course you may be able to tie in or "Potna’ up" with your local at&t I Phone distributor and get a trade off for promotions leading up to the big day, when the winners are announced. I always believed we should give away everything but the kitchen sink!

Giveaways keep people listening longer! Even the people that don’t participate like to hear their peers win prizes. No matter how small! The object of the game is to make your audience winners, and potential winners. 24 x7 x365.
    Peace, and best wishes!

well if you have a talk show format you could have an hour or so called little man speaks …. NOBODY listens to the little IE: small business owners, blue Collier workers, low income people, retiree;s……..sort of a sound off time….. example …TAXES !!!! where in the hell did they find people that thought it would be a good idea to raise taxes AGAIN ! when people are losing jobs or being asked to take less pay or be layed off how can we be expected to live within our budget if the government can’t live within theirs & they tell us to bad we are takeing more of the money that you earned? !!!

Offer the first callers to your station an opportunity to be interviewed live on your station along with their favorite celebrity or even allow the listener to interview them. Become known as the station that gets the interviews with the celebrities they most want to hear about. Give good contests and take frequent surveys from your listeners, and of course have good music your listeners want to hear.
